Most parts of Odisha would experience rainfall from today, said the local Met office here today.
“A low pressure formed over North Madhya Pradesh and South Uttar Pradesh has moved slightly towards west-north-west and lay centred over Central India and West Madhya Pradesh. Besides, a trough line has also formed over north-west Odisha. Under its influence, there would be widespread rain in most parts of Odisha with heavy to very heavy rainfall at some places in north and interior districts. The rainfall in the state will increase on July 24 and 25 with heavy rainfall in north and south Odisha districts”, said Sarat Chandra Sahu, director, Regional Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, here today.
Besides, the wind speed in the coastal Odisha will be over 40 km per hour during the period, he added.
Sahu further said the rainfall in the state will continue after July 25 as there are enough moisture in the upper atmosphere.
