Bhubaneswar, Oct 7:
Rain might spoil Durga Puja festivities in Odisha as a cyclonic circulation formed over northeast Bay of Bengal is likely to trigger rainfall in the state till October 11.
The local Meteorological Centre has predicted that under the influence of the cyclonic circulation, rainfall/thundershower is likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha in the next 24 hours, adding that heavy rainfall likely to occur at one or two places over north Odisha during the period.
The forecast of the Meteorological Centre remains the same from October 8 to 9.
It has further forecasted that heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places over interior Odisha and north-coastal Odisha between October 9 and 10.
The intensity of rainfall would start to decrease from October 11, it predicted.
The cyclonic circulation is unlikely to turn into a low pressure as the effect of the monsoon has decreased, said Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre Director Sarat Sahu.
