Odisha Vigilance sleuths today conducted simultaneous raids on houses of a Public Works Department clerk posted here on allegations of accumulating wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The anti-corruption wing officials conducted raids at four places belonging to Prasant Kumar Mohapatra including—two houses and a godown in Dhenkanal and his residence in CDA area here.
A team of four officials led by Dhenkanal Vigilance DSP raided Mohapatra’s house and a godown in a shopping complex at Khamar Sahi in Dhenkanal.
“Raids were conducted at Cuttack and Dhankanal. We are raiding the residence of the clerk in Dhenkanal and a shop in a market complex where he has shares in it. The Cuttack division office is conducting raids at his residence in Cuttack. Besides, a team from Cuttack has left for his ancestral home,” a Vigilance official said.
According to sources, the raids began at around 8 am today.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered against Mohapatra based on allegations of amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Notably, Mohapatra is posted as senior clerk with the R&B division II here.
