Two persons drowned while taking bath in sea and another body was recovered from the 30-feet high watch tower located at the shore in the pilgrim city here today, police said.
The two persons who died during bathing have been identified as Kalipada Roy (40), a resident of North 24-Pargana in West Bengal and Kaibalya Reddy (60), a local resident.
Roy was staying in a hotel and was taking bath in the sea this morning when he was swept away by high tide. Later his body was found on the sea shore, Sea Beach police officials said.
A local resident Reddy was dragged into the water when he ventured into the sea and his body was found on the shore, source said.
The third person, whose body was found at the top of the watch tower, was yet to be identified.
“Though his identification has not been established, we suspect it as a case of suicide and the age of the victim was around 60 years,” the police said. (PTI)
