Plus Two Science examination conducted by Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) started at 10 AM today across Odisha.
The students appeared for their English test in the first sitting of the examination.
Earlier in the day, the question papers were taken from the strong rooms of 203 examination management hubs of the state to the examination centres by observers. The packets containing the question papers were later opened by the centre superintendents before the examination.
While there were uncertainties about participation of 488-category Block Grant colleges and All Odisha 662 (+2 &+3) Non-Government Lecturers’ and Employees’ Association few days back, they have withdrawn their stir making things easier for CHSE and Odisha Government.
“We were concerned over the participation of the agitating teachers; however, I am thankful that they have called off their stir. The examination began smoothly today. Arrangements for multi-tier squad have been made to prevent malpractice,” said CHSE Chairperson Basudev Chhatoi speaking to reporters today.
Examinations for Arts and Commerce streams will begin from March 3 and 4 respectively. While the Science examinations will end on March 20, Commerce and Arts papers will be wrapped up on March 23 and March 21 respectively. The vocational examination will come to an end on March 24.
Overall, about 3.73 lakh students will appear for the examination in 1,098 centres. Security arrangements have been tightened at all the centres to avoid any untoward incident.
The Council plans to announce the results by the second week of May.
