The Odisha Crime Branch police probing into the circulation of misleading/confusing photographs of Lord Jagannath’s Brahma, secret rituals like infusion of Brahma and pataali of the old idols on the social media, today clarified that the photographs are fakes.
Sources said the Special Investigative Team (SIT) of the Crime Branch has found evidence that the photographs are fakes.
The Crime Branch has come to know that the photograph showings carving of idols is that of idols being carved at an ashram in Bhadrak , sources revealed.
Moreover, the photograph with regard to pataali ritual (burial of old idols) is part of reconstruction of Lord Jagannath’s Nabakalebara aired on a local news channel, sources said.
The SIT has collected good amount of information from officials of the Shree Jagannath Temple office during its second day of investigations at the Temple office in Puri.
The Crime Branch is trying to probe how these photographs landed on social media and who uploaded it.
Meanwhile, the Deula Karana and Tadau Karana of Shree Mandir today recorded their depositions before Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) chief administrator Suresh Mohapatra on the notices issued to them by the SJTA probing into the alleged inordinate delay and mess during the Brahma Parivartan rituals of Lord Jagannath.
