With the monsoon session of the Parliament beginning tomorrow, the BJD supremo and chief minister Naveen Patnaik called his party’s Lok Sabha MPs and Rajya Sabha members for a meeting at his residence Naveen Niwas in the Odisha capital today.
Sources in the party said the chief minister will have a meeting about the role of his party colleagues in the Parliament and the strategies they are going to take on several issues especially on the land acquisition bill introduced the Centre.
Out of 20 Lok Sabha MPs and seven Rajya Sabha members, four of them were found absent in the meeting which began at 11 AM.
Besides, Rajya Sabha member Baishnab Parida left the meeting midway to attend the Bhasa Sammilani meeting.
“Since I had to attend the Bhasa Sammilani meeting, I have left the party meeting with the consent of the chief minister”, Parida told the media.
