One more farmer lost the battle for his life, eight days after he had consumed poison in his Sihipur village in Purushottampur Police station, in Ganjam district.
Lochan Bhuyan was a sharecropper, last Thursday he had drunk poison and was admitted to hospital in a serious condition.
He had taken a loan of Rs 30,000 for crops, but after poor rain lead to crops damage, Lochan was worried about repaying the loan.
Distressed about how to look after his family and repay the loans, Lochan drank poison 8 days ago. He was shifted to SCB medical college as his condition deteriorated but could not be saved.
