Bhubaneswar, Sep 27:

One person was killed and another critically injured when a cement-laden truck hit a bike  at Bomikhal under Saheed Nagar police station limits here on Friday.

The deceased, identified as Narendra Mallick of Baigumpha village near Khajuriapada in Kandhamal district, was working in a private company near Bomikhal and staying at Jayadev Vihar.

According to eyewitnesses, Mallick was on the way to his workplace with his friend Harekrushna Swain on a bike when the speeding truck hit the bike from behind. While Mallick died on the spot, Swain was critically injured.
