Bhubaneswar, May 11:
Over 40,000 students, seeking admission to MBA, MCA, MTech, Pharmacy, Lateral Entry Engineering, Lateral Entry Pharmacy, Homoeopathy, Ayurveda and M Architect, sat for the Odisha Joint Entrance Examinations (OJEE) in the state on Sunday morning.
As directed by the OJEE authorities, the candidates arrived at the centres an hour before the commencement of the examinations with the admit cards that had downloaded from the OJEE websites.
The offline examinations, conducted in two sittings of two hours each are being held at 72 centres in 20 cities across the state of which 16 centres are in Bhubaneswar.
While the first sitting began at 9 AM, the second sitting would begin at 2.30 PM.
To ensure smooth and fair examinations, the OJEE authorities have sought the help of the local administration and the police.
According to OJEE secretary Priyabrata Sahu, the candidates this year are allowed to keep the question papers with them that would help them compare their scores after the test.
Earlier, the question papers were parts of the answer-sheets.
The results will be declared on May 30.
