Baripada, Nov 4:
Three days after reopening for tourists, the Similipal National Park in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district was today closed for indefinite period due to rainfall.
The decision was taken as most roads of the national park have become muddy following rainfall, informed Similipal authorities.
Those visitors who have booked online for staying in guest houses at Jamuani and Kumari can go through Kaliami check gate in Jashipur, informed Deputy Director of Similipal National Park.
Notably, the national park, which was closed since mid-June due to monsoon, had reopened for tourists on November 1.
Worth mentioning, the world famous tiger reserve remains closed for tourists every year during monsoon and reopens in October or November depending on the withdrawal of the monsoon. The park is closed as the roads get washed away due to rain during the monsoon season.
