Bhubaneswar, Nov 28:
Odisha’s Nandankanan Zoological Park on Sunday welcomed 10 rare birds – six Red-billed parrots and four Meyer’s parrots – bought from a private farm in Bhubaneswar at Rs 2 lakh.
The Red-billed parrots were put in the enclosure no 6 while Meyer’s in the enclosure no 3. One Meyer’s has laid eggs after coming to the Nandankanan.
In another incident, the zoological park is planning to hatch an egg of an Ostrich putting it in a hatchery, informed a Nandankanan official.
Notably, the Ostrich was brought to the zoo three years back from Bengaluru but her eggs used to fail to hatch.
