Odisha’s ace sprinter Shrabani Nanda today bagged gold in the 200 m category at the 55th National inter-state athletics championship held in Chennai.
On the second day of the four-day event, the Odisha athlete won gold by clocking 23.92 secs at the event held at the Jawaharlal Nehru floodlight stadium.
West Bengal’s Himasree Roy secured Silver and Priyanka Panwar from Uttar Pradesh won Bronze with a time of 24.91 sec and 25.10 sec respectively.
Notably, this tournament, which will also serve as a selection trials, is the last chance for the Indian athletes to earn a place at the World Championship, scheduled for August 22-30 in Beijing.
