To provide better health facilities for the sick infants, 15 new ventilators will be installed at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Post Graduate Institute of Paediatrics, popularly known as Sishu Bhawan, in Odisha’s Cuttack district.
An agreement has been signed with a private firm for the ventilators which will be installed in advance care and research centre of the hospital.
The company will supply oxygen through pipes in the newborn ward. A 50 meter long pipe will be filled with oxygen for the purpose.
Also in each ward a new monitor will be installed, while new instruments will be brought in diagnosis, laboratory, anaesthesia, operation theatre by Odisha state medical corporation.
Notably, after the fire incident in November 29 the whole paediatric ward had been renovated except the oxygen pipes before the ward was opened to the patients.
After the news was reported in media, hospital authorities had taken out tender for oxygen pipeline.
