Bhubaneswar, May 17:

At least five Odisha Assembly candidates who almost made it, but for the very last rounds of vote count,  which saw them losing by a wafer thin margin.

Six others also lost in the last rounds by margins ranging from 1039 to 1830.

Here is a list of the leaders who lost by very narrow margins in the Assembly polls.

—Lalatendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra (Congress)-Brahmagiri (1341)
—K Narayan Rao (BJD)- Paralakhemundi (1419)
—Binay Kumar Toppo (BJD)-Talasara (1438)
—Ramaranjan Baliarsingh (BJD)-Satyabadi (1532)

—Dayanidhi Kisan (BJD)-Bonaigarh (1818)

—Nauri Nayak (BJP)-Rengali (1830)

Lok Sabha 

In the Lok Sabha polls, Pradip Majhi lost the race by a very small margin of just 2942 votes in Nabrangpur.

There were three others who were defeated by a comparatively narrow margin.
