Bhubaneswar: Twin City Commissionerate of Police will initiate criminal proceedings against those responsible for the collapse of a portion of under construction flyover at Bomikhal in the Odisha capital today in which one person was killed and 11 persons were injured.
“Cases will be registered against those for whose negligence the under construction flyover collapsed. Criminal cases will be registered against the concerned contractor and government officials for whose negligence the mishap occurred,” informed Twin City Police Commissioner Y B Khurania speaking to reporters here this evening.
Besides, rights activist Subash Mohapatra has registered an FIR at the Laxmisagar police station in the matter and has demanded the arrest of those responsible for the mishap.
Mohapatra has alleged of large scale corruption in the construction of the flyover. He has further alleged of unholy nexus between the concerned contractor and government officials.

Meanwhile, Bhubaneswar Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena has informed that rescue operations are over and thankfully no one has been found trapped in the debris.
