Bhubaneswar, Dec 27:
Khandagiri police today recorded statements of the family members of deceased engineering student Ashutosh Mohanty alias Rishi in connection with the latter’s much-talked about alleged murder and the controversial sex video linked to it.
Rishi’s father, mother, and sister appeared before the Khandagiri police this evening following summons issued to them and recorded their statements under section 161 Cr PC.
“We have provided all information to the police. We suspect Rishi has been murdered. I suspect the involvement of his roommate with surname ‘Nanda’. Nanda and Rishi’s so-called girlfriend should be interrogated,” said Pritirani Mohanty, deceased Rishi’s mother in her reactions to reporters after coming out of Khandagiri police station this evening.
She, however, claimed that she had no knowledge about the controversial video’s link with her son’s death.
Earlier in the day, National Students Union of India state unit president Itish Pradhan and niankhunta.com proprietor Pradip Pandey who had visited the Capital police station to record their statements following a summon by the police in connection with the controversial sex video and its links with Rishi’s alleged murder failed to do so since the investigating officer (IO) in the case was absent.
Notably, it was Itish who had demanded a CBI probe into Rishi’s mysterious death following niankhunta.com’s expose alleging links of the sex video to the engineering student’s death.
