Odisha Sun Times Bureau
Bhubaneswar, Mar 5:

The state Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) department has ventured into conducting series of programmes at grass root level to promote and encourage innovation and entrepreneurship among the youths of Odisha.

Naveen PatnaikThe 11th edition of Entrepreneurs’ Week, scheduled from March 5 to March 11 was inaugurated today by chief minister Naveen Patnaik at Hotel Swosti Premium here to mark the beginning of these programmes.

As per 4th census of MSME in Odisha, 1.57 million MSMEs provide employment to nearly 3.32 million people of the state making it the largest source of employment after the agriculture sector. Moreover, many from the vulnerable and marginalized sectors of society, as well as a large number of women workers are engaged in it.

Various state level programmes are planned to be organized during the entire week which includes seminars and workshops on different issues relating to tourism, food processing, export, cluster development, safety measures, quality, credit, infrastructures, and promotion of ancillary and downstream industries.
