Cuttack, Jul 10:
The Odisha High Court on Thursday directed the authorities of Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) to extend the deadline for choice locking for lateral entry admissions into various engineering courses and complete the process in the next 10 days.
The scheduled last date for choice locking was Thursday.
The Court also asked OJEE authorities to make available 20 percent of the earmarked (reserved) seats for lateral entry and also seats remaining vacant in the first year for admission in the lateral entry category in B.Tech and Diploma courses and the second shift curriculum.
It also directed the concerned authorities to allow the students, who have already done choice locking, to go for another round of choice locking.
A division bench of the court of Justice Indrajit Mahanti and Justice DP Choudhury issued the directive after hearing a writ petition filed by the principal of Nigam Institute of Engineering and Technology, Manoranjan Samantray.
