Bhubaneswar, Sep 9:
Odisha Government plans to set up ‘Odisha Mineral Exploration Corporation’ soon to give a boost to extraction of minerals in the state, said Principal Secretary of Steel and Mines Raj Kumar Sharma while addressing a conference of FICCI held in Bhubaneswar today.
‘The State Government will soon incorporate an entity named Odisha Mineral Exploration Corporation. This will function as a subsidiary company of Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) and facilitate raw material to the industries,” said Sharma.
While the production of minerals stood at 80 million tonnes last year, the government plans to extract 110 million tonnes of iron ore this year.
