Bhubaneswar: A day after announcing a hike in stipend for house surgeons of state-run medical colleges and hospitals, the Odisha government today announced to increase the Duty Call up Allowance of Home Guards.
According to a notification of the Home department, Home Guards will now get Rs 300 as Duty Call up Allowance per day as against the earlier amount of Rs 240.
It’s worth mentioning here that a few days back, Home Guards had agitated demanding regular appointment, increase in wages and other facilities.
Notably, Home Guards are not regular employees and hence are not entitled to monthly salary. They are paid on daily allowance basis.
