Odisha govt approves Rs 12.89 cr for urban infra development

Bhubaneswar: State government approved Rs 12.89 crore from Odisha Urban Infrastructure Development Fund (OUIDF) for various new and renovation projects in different cities.

The fund was approved at a meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi here on Wednesday.

As per the decision at the meeting, there will be toilet on wheel system in five locations in Bhubaneswar where people can use the toilet at minimal cost. The toilet of wheel will be launched in three historical places, Master Canteen and Baramunda bus stand.

The government will provide Rs 56.20 lakh from OUIDF for toilet of wheel. It will release Rs 1.52 crore for proposed compost plant in Gadhakan, Rs 5,40,25,000 for reservoir renovation project in Hanjilikatu and Rs 5,41,33,000 for pond renovation project in Titlagarh.

Besides, topics about 56 proposed vending zones in Cuttack, water supply to Goaplpur municipality, two fish markets in Sambalpur, slaughter house in Gadhakan, water supply project for IIT, NISER, Infocity in Jatni and Khurda area on PPP mode, water supply in Greater Berhampur, swearge system in Rourkela, proposed housing project for slum dwellers in Satyanagar, Gadhakan and Sudhipur in the state capital, seven proposed reservoirs in Sambalpur, three proposed reservoirs in Berhampur, energy conserving street light in five Corporations and regional solid waste management in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack were discussed at the meeting.

The discussion was also held about sharing of information in Whatsapp group on daily basis about progress of various proposed projects in nine AMRUT cities.
