Promising Odisha cricketer Madhuri Mehta has walked into the 14-member Indian T-20 squad for the forthcoming World T 20 championship beginning on March 24 on the back of a series of stunning performances in the recent past.
She is also part of the Indian squad that would take on the Bangladesh in a three-match T 20 series before the World T 20 championship. The first of the three matches will be played on March 9.
Mehta becomes the second cricketer from Odisha to play international matches after Rasnara Parween.
The Bolangir girl had impressed one and all with her performance in the recently concluded senior women’s T-20 championship,
“I had done well at all the events this year – including the east zone championship, the Challengers’ Cup – and was expecting the call,” said a beaming Mehta after her selection.
