A local court in Odisha capital today allowed Vigilance sleuths to take the arrested Phulbani Mining Officer on a two-day remand for further interrogation.
The Vigilance court allowed the investigating officers to take Prafulla Kumar Sethy on two-day remand from tomorrow. Notably, Sethy was arrested in connection with a disproportionate assets case on Thursday.
The anti-corruption wing officials had sought for a five-day remand for further interrogation to unearth the properties possessed by the Mining Officer.
On Wednesday, Sethy was detained following simultaneous raids at nine places across the state. The raided locations include Sethy’s Phulbani office, ancestral home and his houses located in GGP colony and Sabarsahi of Bhubaneswar. During the raids conducted by multiple teams of the Bhubaneswar Division of Vigilance, the officials of the anti-corruption wing unearthed properties worth over Rs 2.60 crore from his possession.
Besides, Sethy was in possession of two plots in Cuttack, four flats and a house in Bhubaneswar, two houses in Teladiha, a plot and a market complex in Nischintakoili.
The officials had found gold biscuits of 447 gm, jewellery and Rs 5 lakh cash from the bank locker of Sethy.
