Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today met five persons who were injured after Puri-Haridwar Utkal Express derailed near Khatauli in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday night.
The CM met and enquired about the health of the injured passengers who are undergoing treatment at Capital hospital here.
Patnaik, who had earlier announced ex-gratia of Rs 50,000 each to the five injured, also wished for their speedy recovery.
The five passengers have been identified as Madhu Mandal, Amiya Das, Debendra Das, Jatri Das, Mubarak Ali and Sabita Mallick.
A five-member team led by State Commerce and Transport Minister Nrusingha Mishra had brought the five injured from UP yesterday evening.
The ill-fated train had jumped off the track near Khatauli in western Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar district leaving 20 killed and above 70 injured.
