Bhubaneswar: Following the incident of Odisha Matric exam question papers getting circulated on WhatsApp, the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) has issued letters to all the superintendents of +2 examination centres over ban on mobile phones.
The superintendents have been instructed to ban entry of mobile phones and other electronic devices into the examination hall. The prohibition will be applicable on candidates, invigilators and other staff.
The superintendents will only be allowed to use mobile phones to remain in contact with authorities, the letter said. If required, the superintendents may create a cloak room for keeping the mobile phones of staff only, the letter added.
“All precautionary measures be taken so that groups/crowds do not gather around the examination centre. Strict vigil should be kept in and around the examination centre so that question papers do not go out of the centre during the hours of the examination,” the letter read.
Worth mentioning, photos of question papers of the annual High School Certificate (HSC) examination (Matric exam) conducted by the Odisha Board of Secondary Education (BSE) had earlier surfaced on WhatsApp during the exam and gone viral.
