The State Cabinet will meet here this evening to take a decision on a host of proposals that are expected to have a bearing on the coming elections.
Though the agenda for the meeting is yet to be circulated among the ministers, the major issues on which the cabinet is expected to take a call are the raising of the retirement age of state government employees from 58 to 60, restructuring of OAS cadre and the demand of block grant teachers.
A proposal for providing health insurance coverage to all government employees is also likely to come up consideration, sources in the government said.
The agenda is likely to be finalised by 5 pm and the cabinet will meet around 6 pm, the sources added.
