Sarita Pattnaik (Rinki) has been crowned Mrs India USA 2016 at a glittering beauty pageant for Indian-Americans held at Royal Albert place in New Jersey on Sunday.
Sarita from Georgia is an Interior Designer by profession and mother of two children. She wants to be a social activist and become a voice for women’s empowerment.
She has also won the sash for Best Catwalk at the event.
“It happened finally!!! I won the title of Mrs India USA and I also won the sash for Best Catwalk. The event was held in New Jersey,” Sarita revealed in her Facebook post.
“I have so many people to thank. First and foremost my husband…Satya…You make it all easy,” she said in her post on Facebook.
Madhu Valli, an emerging hip-hop artist, was crowned Miss India USA 2016 at the event.
The 19-year-old is a student at the George Mason University. A resident of Virginia, she is majoring in music and communication.
She has recorded 14 different singles in her kitty and aims to become the biggest star in the music world.
Besides, Rhea Manjrekar from New York was crowned Miss Teen USA.
Rhea loves to work for homeless children and is engaged in fund raising activity for the cause.
She has raised over USD 50,000 in last two years for the cause.
This was the 35th year of the popular beauty pageant for Indian-Americans.
