The yatra is intended at taking the messages of the BJP led Central Government to the public and highlight the misgovernance of the State Government in areas such as education, health, ration card distribution and job creation among others.

In the first phase, the yatra will start from Chandahandi town of Nabarangpur district and cover 17 of BJP’s organisational districts in the state. It will culminate at Keonjhar on April 24, said BJP General Secretary Prithiviraj Harichandan speaking to reporters today.

“Odisha BJP will take out this Rath Yatra in order to create awareness about the welfare schemes of the Modi government among the party workers and general public. Besides, we will highlight the incompetence of the State Government throughout the yatra,” he added.

The party made the announcement today in a press conference held in Bhubaneswar on the occasion of its Foundation day. It also celebrated its Foundation day in the party offices at 25 of its organisational districts across the state.
