Bhubaneswar, Dec 4:
Odisha unit of BJP today announced that it will organise meetings across all the panchayats of the state to mobilise support for the party in the run up to upcoming panchayat polls scheduled to be held in February 2016.
The decision on the context was taken today in a meeting of the district level officer bearers held at the state headquarters here.
“BJP is completely prepared for the panchayat polls. Our membership and organisation capabilities have recorded a 10 fold increase in recent times. We will hold meetings across all the panchayats of the state between January 26 and February 7 to capitalise on it,” said party’s Odisha in-charge Arun Singh.
Speaking about the agenda of the meetings, he added, “The inefficient State Government is not able to spend the financial assistance offered by the Center, yet keeps alleging Central negligence. The aid that should be spent at panchayat level returns unspent. That will be the key talking point”.
Singh further explained that NFSA irregularities, drinking water issues, infrastructure development and health issues will be taken up prominently to highlight the failure of the State Government.
