Odisha bag three gold medals in National Rowing Championship

Bhubaneswar, Feb 8:

Odisha bagged three gold, two silver and two bronze medals at the 33rd Senior National Rowing Championship at the College of Military Engineering (CME) premises in Pune on Saturday.

In the women’s Coxless Four 2000-metre race, Alam Lakra, Pratima Puhan, Asmita Kujur and Manisha Kispota won a gold medal while in the women’s Coxless Four 500-metre event, Alam Lakra, Pricila Buxla, Asmita Kujur and Manisha Kispota won the second gold.

In the 500-metre Double Squall event, Pratima Puhan and Asmita Kujur won the third gold medal for the state.

In the Coxless Pair 500-metre women’s event, Meena Madhuri Toppo and Pramila Prava Minz won a silver while Asmita Kujur and Pratima Puahan won another silver in the Coxless Pair 2000-metre.

In the Single Squall 2000 and 500-metre event, Monika Devi bagged two bronze medals.

The 7-day event that began on February 2 would conclude tomorrow.
