Odisha Assembly was today repeatedly adjourned as BJP members created ruckus in the House over different issues.

As the House assembled for Question Hour, BJP legislators rushed to the Well of the House and created din protesting disciplinary action against 11 government staff by Koraput Collector pertaining to grant of permission for landing of a helicopter used by Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan at Borigumma in the district.

Kuchinda MLA Rabinarayan Naik tried to snatch Speaker Niranjan Pujari’s mike.

Unable to run the House amid pandemonium, the Speaker adjourned it till 11.30 AM.

Noisy scenes prevailed after the House reassembled as BJP members created uproar over BJD MLA Mahesh Sahu’s remark against PM Narendra Modi.

The House was again adjourned till 3 PM by the Speaker.

Notably, on February 13, Union Minister Pradhan who had come for campaigning for his party candidates in the recently concluded panchayat election alighted from a helicopter at Borigumma.

Dispute arose over the giving of permission to the Union Minister’s helicopter to land.
