Puri, Jul 28:
Internationally acclaimed sand artist Manas Kumar Sahoo today created a sand sculpture to pay tribute to former president A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, who died following a cardiac arrest in Meghalaya yesterday while delivering a lecture at IIM-Shillong, near light house on Odisha’s Puri beach.
The sand artist created a sand sculpture to pay tribute to the Missile Man of India. The five-foot high sand sculpture was constructed with six tons of sand and continuous labour for 6 hours.
The sculpture carried the message “Tribute to Dr APJ Abdul Kalam”.
“He was a great personality. We have lost the people’s President and a true patriot. He will continue to be an inspiration for the coming generations,” Sahoo said.
Sahoo along with several people paid rich tributes to the departed soul.
