Nuclear capable Dhanush ballistic missile was successfully test fired from warship INS Subhadra, off Puri coast, Odisha, today.
This is the fourth test of the nuclear-capable Dhanush ballistic missile with a strike range of 350 km from a naval ship off the Odisha coast.
The ballistic missile was fired at 11: 25 am, and was tested for its speed, direction and target accuracy by help of radar.
Dhanush is a naval variant of India’s indigenously-developed Prithvi missile. It is capable of carrying conventional as well as nuclear payload of 500 kg and it can hit both land and sea- based targets. The missile has a length of 8.53 meters and 0.9 meter wide.
Naval variant Dhanush missile was first successfully tested in 2012.
