Kendrapara: Tension ran high in Odisha’s district headquarters town of Kendrapara when members of National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) showed black flags to local Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MLA Kishore Tarai who was on his way to attend a prize distribution ceremony at the Kendrapara College.

NSUI members opposed Tarai being invited to the prize distribution ceremony of the college since students’ union election schedule has been announced.

Following clashes between NSUI and Biju Chhatra Janata Dal (BCJD) members, a large number of policemen have been deployed in the college campus to maintain law and order.

According to latest reports, police have detained three NSUI members.
