Bhubaneswar, Aug 20:

Senior BJP leader Bijoy Mohapatra Tuesday directly accused Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik of showing undue favour to builders in group housing projects.Bijoy Mohapatra Bijay

Mohapatra alleged that pages from 288 to 304 were torn and were missing in the file approved by the chief minister.

The senior leader asked how the chief minister gave his approval to the file although 16 pages were missing.

Citing that the CAG has mentioned this lapse in its report, Mohapatra questioned chief minister’s claim of being impartial and transparent.

The BJP leader said the CAG has mentioned in its report that the state exchequer has incurred a loss of Rs 463 crore in the group housing schemes as a consequence of the state government showing undue favour to builders.

By putting his signature on a file that was torn and its pages missing, the chief minister has sealed all escape routes for himself, said the BJP leader.

Mohapatra also sought a clarification from the chief minister over land allocation to the OCL  at Choudwar in 2006 despite Law department’s advice against it.

He said the CAG has asked the Odisha government to explain as to how land was provided to OCL despite Law department’s objections against such a move.
The senior BJP leader demanded that the chief minister should recommend a CBI probe into the matter.
