Bhubaneswar, Feb 17:
With main rival Congress engaged in hectic confabulations to finalise its candidates for the 21 Lok Sabha seats in the seats well ahead of schedule, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) supremo Naveen Patnaik held discussions with district level observers of the party on Monday.
The discussions at Naveen Nivas this evening were aimed at gauging the situation at the ground level and getting feedback from the observers about probable candidates for the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, BJD sources said.
With some opinion polls showing that the BJD may lose a few of the 14 Lok Sabha seats it now holds in the coming elections, the party president is not taking any chances, the sources said.
