Bhubaneswar, May 21 :
Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik and 21 members of his council of ministers, including 11 of the cabinet rank, will take the oath of office and secrecy at a formal function at the Raj Bhawan here today.
The eleven who will be sworn in as cabinet ministers are – Dr Damodar Rout, Debi Prasad Mishra, Pradip Kumar Amat, Bijayshree Routray, Badri Narayan Patra, Bikram Keshari Arukh, Lal Behari Himirika, Pradip Maharathi, Usha Devi, Puspendra Singhdeo and Yogendra Behera.
The ten ministers of state are Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak, Arun Kumar Sahu, Ashok Kumar Panda, Sanjay Dasburma, Sudam Marandi, Pradip Panigrahi, Ramesh Chandra Majhi, Prafulla Mallick, Pranab Prakash Das and Snehangini Chhuria.
Five ministers who were part of Naveen’s earlier team have been axed. They include three cabinet rank ministers, Surya Narayan Patro, Maheswar Mohanty and Niranjan Pujari.
The other two are Rajanikant Singh and Subrat Tarai.
The 12 districts that will go unrepresented in Naveen’s new ministry are Baleswar, Anugul, Debagarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Sonepur, Nuapada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati and Kandhamal.
There are reports that senior party leader from Sundargarh Mangala Kisan will adorn the Speaker’s chair while the post of the Government Chief Whip will go to Anant Das, senior party MLA from Baleswar district.
