The global alumina behemoth Nalco on Wednesday opened an OPD Centre at Angul for the benefit of registered villagers living in the vicinity.
This is a part of the company’s periphery development programme or CSR activity.
The Smelter & Power Complex of the company which has taken the initiative will offer medicines free of cost to patients after thorough check-ups at the OPD Centre, company sources said.
Nalco has also been operating Mobile Health Units in the peripheral region, sources added.
The registration drive to enroll villagers for the new medical facility was launched today at Tulasipal village.
Sachin Jadhav, Collector, Angul, S.K.Roy, ED (S&P), NALCO, Pradosh Mohanty, GM (H&A) and Sujata Shubhadarshini, BDO, Banarpal, handed over the Health Cards to the villagers.
Anil Bhatt, DGM (PD & PR), coordinated the distribution of cards.
