Bhubaneswar: Odisha government decided to develop a mobile app for monitoring Abaas Yojana implemented in rural areas.
The Odisha Space Applications Centre (ORSAC) has been given the responsibility to develop the app.
The data will be prepared about construction of houses under Abaas Yojana through remote sensing technology following which the fund allocations that will be made in phases can be monitored easily.
This was decided at a high level meeting chaired by Odisha Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi at state secretariat yesterday. Reviewing the ORSAC programmes, he directed various departments to provide public services properly along with monitoring different housing projects using the data being prepared by the ORSAC.
With the development of the mobile app, the forest, agriculture, mining, water resources and urban development departments will be benefited.
The ORSAC was asked to complete remote sensing based property tax evaluation in Bhubaneswar and Puri municipalities within three months.
