Girls in Odisha do not have to go outside the state to give audition for the Miss India contest any more. Entertainment giants ‘Staar Makers’ and ‘Prelude’ have joined hands to organize the state version of the Femina Miss India contest called ‘Miss Odisha-India’ in the state.
Auditions for the event will start from January 10 and will be held in a phased manner at Cuttack, Puri and Rourkela and culminate on January 19 . The final audition will be conducted at Bhubaneswar by Femina Miss India on January 20, informed ‘Staar Makers’ Director Naveen Kandoi at a press meet here today.
Miss India Organisation, a division of Bennet, Coleman and Co Ltd, Mumbai has signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ‘Staar Makers’ to conduct the Miss Odisha-India beauty pageant, he said.
“The show would he held and judged as per the guidelines and format provided by the Miss India Organization. 15-20 aspirants will be shortlisted for the Grand Finale, to be held in the capital city on January 24. The Grand Finale will be judged by a former Femina Miss India and will also have celebrity judges from the Ollywood entertainment industry,” he added.
The winner, who would be crowned as the Miss Odisha-India, would have a direct entry to the Femina Miss India-East to be held in Kolkata, where as the Runners-up candidates would get an entry to the Final round for the Femina Miss India-East, said Bennet, Talent Scout, Miss India Organisation.
The grand finale round will crown candidates chosen from sub-titles like Miss Beautiful Hair, Miss Best Smile, Best Costume Odisha, Miss Talented, Miss Rampwalk, Best Body, Miss Cine Star, Miss Cine Star, Miss Vivacious and Miss Best Tooth.
Among others, Prelude Director Satyabrata Ratho, Director of Khimji Mitesh Khimji and Ollywood Actress Archita Sahoo were present at the media briefing.
