Panic gripped Bisra area in Odisha’s Sundargarh district after a group of armed miscreants set a JCB machine and two buses on fire at Soroda and Loharam villages late on Tuesday night.
According to reports, the miscreants arrived at Soroda village on four bikes. After terrorising the villagers, they set a JCB machine on fire. They later went to Pitala village and badly damaged a private bus. Next, they went to Loharam village and set two private buses on fire and threatened the villagers to kill them if they inform the police about the incident.
Following information, Bisra police went to the two villages this morning for an on-the-spot investigation.
Though the villagers had informed the police about the incident, they have are not willing to give details fearing retaliation by the miscreants.
The police, during preliminary investigation, have come to know that the miscreants are members of the People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) of the neighbouring Jharkhand and had carried sophisticated guns with them.
Police have launched a manhunt to nab them.
