Rourkela, Sep 17 :
Unidentified miscreants on Monday snatched away Rs 2.8 lakh from two brothers at gunpoint in Sundargarh district, police said.
The incident occurred on the busy Ring Road of Rourkela in broad daylight shortly after the two brothers, K Ravi Kumar and K Trinath, came out of a nationalised bank after withdrawing the money, Superintendent of Police A N Sinha said.
Suddenly, they were intercepted by four miscreants in two bikes near Singhasini temple. Threatening the duo at gun point, the culprits tried to snatch away the bag from Ravi, who was on the pillion of the bike they were riding.
When Ravi put stiff resistance, his brother lost control of the bike and both fell down allowing the miscreants to decamp with the booty, Sinha said.
The two got injured and were admitted to the Rourkela General Hospital.
Investigation into the incident was on with the help of CCTV footage of the bank to identify the culprits, the SP said.(PTI)
