The forecast by the local Met office here today that the temperature in Odisha would relent further will bring cheers to the people, who have been battling with a gruelling heat wave for almost three weeks.
Temperature went up to 40 degree Celsius in only three places in the state today with Sonepur being the hottest place with 41.2 degree.
The two other places—Sambalpur and Titlagarh—recorded 40.1 and 40 degree Celsius respectively.
An upper air cyclonic circulation, formed over Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining areas, will move east-northeast during the next 24 hours. Under the influence, rain or thundershower is likely in some parts of the state in the next seven days till May 13 after which the temperature is likely to go up, the Met office said in a release today.
