Bhubaneswar, Jul 30:
Even as Commissionerate Police has failed to make any headway in two cases of burglary in the Odisha capital in the past few days, two unidentified masked miscreants looted a businessman’s house located in Indraprastha Colony under Airfield police limits in the city in the wee hours of Thursday.
According to police sources, the masked robbers entered into the house of the businessman Jahid Khan by cutting the grills and door locks of the house.
They terrorised the family members brandishing sharp weapons and decamped with Rs 50,000 cash and 140 gram gold from the house worth more than Rs 3 lakhs .
Khan, who runs a shipping business in Kolkata and Dubai, lodged a complaint with the Airfield police today.
After getting a call from family members, the police rushed to the spot with a scientific team and a dog squad and began investigation.
Notably, the police has failed to make any breakthrough in the burglary – one at a retired teacher’s house at Shyampur under Khandagiri police limits and the other in an accountant’s house at Sisupalgarh under Dhauli police limits on July 21.
