Maoists torch road construction equipment in Bargarh

A group of armed Maoists on late Monday night attacked a camp of a contractor at Lakhanpur in Bargarh district of Odisha and set some of the road construction equipment on fire.

According to reports, the left wing ultras arrived at the camp late in the night and asked the workers present at the camp to leave the place. They then set a JCB machine, a tractor and a mixture machine on fire.

Following information, police rushed to the spot and began a search operation to nab the ultras.

It may be mentioned that the Maoists have asked the people to boycott the ensuing elections.
