Maoists kill man by slitting throat in Odisha, torch vehicles

Malkangiri: Continuing their brutal acts, Maoists last night killed a person by slitting his throat at Pipalpadar village under Chitrakonda police limits in Odisha’s Malkangiri district suspecting him to be a police informer.

According to reports, around 30 Maoists barged into the house of Sadhu Khemudi in the village while he was sleeping.

The extremists dragged him out and took him to a nearby forest where they killed him by slitting his throat and fled the spot.

The red rebels later stormed into a contractor camp in the area and set three tractors on fire which were engaged in a road construction work.

On being informed, police reached the spot this morning and started investigation.

In a related incident, the Maoists have put up posters at MV-35 village in Kalimela area of the district warning locals of death punishment if they work as police informers. They have also warned quacks to abstain from practicing sorcery.
