Man shot at by Maoists in Odisha’s Malkangiri, hospitalised

Malkangiri: A person sustained critical bullet injuries after allegedly being shot at by a group of Maoists at Silakota village under Padia police limits in Odisha’s Malkangiri district last night.

The victim, identified as Mangudu Wanjami (45) of the village, was admitted to Padia community health centre by locals.

According to reports, eight Maoists entered Wanjami’s house around 11.30 am and opened fire a round of bullet, which hit his right thigh.

The extremists reportedly proceeded towards Metaguda and Ramaguda following the incident.

It is suspected that the red rebels committed the act as Wanjami was sensitising public against them.
