Keonjhar, Dec 3:
A man was today arrested in Odisha’s Keonjhar on charges of killing his four-year-old daughter.
According to reports, the accused allegedly strangulated his minor daughter at Sahadapur village under Sadar police limits in the district.
While police have arrested the accused Santosh Mohanta and begun further investigation into the incident, it is suspected to be a fall-out of family feud.
Phulmani – the wife of the accused – had gone to her parent’s place after a quarrel with her husband yesterday with another daughter who is two years’ old. As the deceased identified as Sonali had been to nearby Anganwadi centre, Phulmani wasn’t able to take her along.
Enraged over this, Santosh allegedly strangulated Sonali to death. After committing the crime, Santosh went to his in-law’s place and told his wife about the incident.
He reportedly told his wife that he won’t get a chance to see her daughter any further as he has killed her.
After this, a complaint was filed with the Sadar police who arrested him.
