This Katki boy from Tulasipur, is making waves in the media world today. Ad and film-maker Avinash Nanda, underwent the proverbial anvil of struggle in his initial years of directorial career. Strengthened by experience, he is doing a tango with success. Time and experience have been his strength, which Avinash relies upon to stride ahead in the glamour world of films and advertisement.
His 35-minute short film The Desire, based on a love story of a differently abled individual and a beautiful woman has been gaining popularity in the media and doing rounds in the social media circle, as well. The soon-to-be-released movie is being awaited by many across the country.
According to Avi, the advertising market in Odisha has a long way to go and the mindset of the people has to change first. Budget is the biggest constraint as to why quality is compromised. Conscious flexibility in the budget and use of good equipments will enhance the quality of creative’s made. Odisha has no dearth of beautiful models, talented camera persons and technical crew.
Avinash has a dream of starting Asia’s first advertising film academy in Odisha. Students and amateurs will benefit by learning the different nuances of film-making, TV commercials, writing a storyboard, image consultation for models, camera usage, news editing, etc.
Not many are aware of the fact that Avinash has acted in two Odia films Subarna Sita and Bagula Baguli. The mentor in his life who he really looks up to is late Prafulla Mohanty, former employee of Doordarshan, who taught him the ropes of film-making.
